Presented the new TV-Box MECOOL KT2 that this time surprises us by the inclusion of a DVB T/T2 receiver, this includes second generation protocols (T2) that allows us to receive video in high quality.
As in the Mecool KT1 we have Android TV as operating system, although this time it adds certification for Netflix, Prime Video and Disney so we can view these streaming services in high quality. The KT2 is powered by a Quad Core Amlogic S905Y4 processor, which you can read our review with support for Dolby Audio, and is accompanied by 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage.
We have Chromecast included and a specific app for the DVB T/T2 receiver where we can schedule recordings, manage channels and configure different aspects.
MECOOL KT2 Specifications
This Android TV Box includes as its backbone an AMlogic S905Y4 processor manufactured in 12nm. This chip is a Quad Core with low power consumption ARM Cortex-A35 processors and an ARM Mali-G31 MP2 GPU that reaches 850 Mhz. An SoC that includes AV1 codec decoding, support for video output up to 4K@60fps resolutions and compatibility with HDR 10, HDR10 and HLG technologies.
This Smart Box has 2 GB of DDR4 RAM memory soldered on its motherboard. For storage, we have only one option, with 32 GB of eMMc storage memory.
Other notable features
The MECOOL KT2 has for wireless connectivity Wi-Fi 5 with internal antennas and Bluetooth 5.0. Connectors included on the perimeter of its small plastic case are a USB 2.0 port, 3.5 mm jack for analogue audio and video output, an RJ45 10/100 Ethernet network connector and an HDMI 2.1 video output.
The operating system is Android TV and a remote control with voice functions, power supply and HDMI cable are included for easy use right out of the box.
