Mediatek has just announced the new integrated Mediatek Dimensity 9400e for mid-range smartphones in its highest category.
An Octa Core manufactured in 4 nm that will give us great energy efficiency and this time uses Arm CORTEX-X4 cores in its high-performance clusters, so the differences with the Mediatek Dimensity 9400 can be substantial. The GPU also jumps to an Arm Immortalis-G720 MC12 and for iA we have an NPU 790, a new leap forward.
It also integrates NeuroPilot SDK, with support for iA models like LLM and multi-mode capabilities, as well as gaming tools like Framerate Converter, HyperEngine and Adaptive Gaming, which promise up to 40% power efficiency in gaming.
Mediatek Dimensity 9400e Specifications
This SoC is an Octa Core manufactured in 4 nm by TSMC. Inside we have three clusters, the most powerful with 1 recent Arm Cortex-X4 processor that reaches 3.45 Ghz. In the other two clusters we have 3 Arm Cortex-X4 that reach 2.85 Ghz and, on the other hand, 4 Arm Cortex-A720 processors with a maximum speed of 2.0 Ghz. The GPU is an Arm Immortalis-G720 MC12 and includes support for HDR10 , HDR VIVID and below. We also have a 790 NPU for artificial intelligence work that accepts LoRA training.
For RAM we have support for LPDDR5X up to 8533 MHz, while storage goes up to UFS 4 type with MCQ. We also have Wifi 7 connectivity, Bluetooth 6, GPS 6 in 1 and X75 5G modem. In this integrated, the camera controller is an ISP that allows the management of a photo camera up to 320 MP, while the video reaches 8K@30fps as maximum. Finally, this chip can drive up to three foldable displays with maximum WFHD resolution and refresh up to 180 Hz.
