While we wait for the new Amlogic SoCs like the S905X5M we have to settle for the S905X4, present in the new Android Box called Q11.
The Q11 is a Chinese Box relatively complete in its configuration, since at least we have 4 GB of RAM, Gigabit Ethernet and AV1 codec decoding thanks to its AMlogic S905X4 processor. The operating system is Android 11, and it seems to come with a tool to customize the box by changing many parameters such as the logo, preinstalled apps, etc., the only thing that catches our attention of this box.
This is an Android Box suitable as a media player, KODI, CoreELEC or similar or to run games or emulators like EmuELEC. It is little suitable for using paid streaming platforms, as it does not have certificates to display them in high video quality, even if we have shortcut buttons on its remote control.
Box Q11 Specifications
Inside the Q11 we find as main engine the AMlogic S905X4 SoC manufactured in 12 nm. This chip is a Quad Core with low-power ARM Cortex-A55 processors reaching 2 GHz speed and integrates a Mali-G31 MP2 GPU. The VPU includes 4K@60fps, HDR, HDR10 and HLG support.
We have a single version with 4 GB of RAM DDR3 and 32 GB and a micro SD card reader in case we want to expand the memory.
In the field of wireless connectivity, all versions of this Box have dual band Wifi aC and Bluetooth 4.2. The connectors included on the sides of its plastic case are a USB 2.0 port, another USB 3.0 port, 3.5 mm connector for analog audio and video output, SPDIF digital audio output, RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet connector and an HDMI 2.1 video output.
Included in the Q11 box is an HDMI cable, power supply and an IR remote control with microphone to be able to use this Smart Box from the very first moment.
