New Box with Android that appears on AliExpress under the name of U3 mini and wearing the usual square black plastic box, but this time with a couple of interesting points.
A Box that from what we read already comes with Android 11 installed as system and with the recent SoC Amlogic S905Y4. A processor of which you can read our review of the Amlogic S905Y4 SoC and that among others includes native decoding of the latest generation AV1 codec.
Little else exciting we can say about the U3 mini, since its connectivity options are quite basic and we will not have the necessary certificates to view paid streaming services like Netflix or HBO Max in top quality.
U3 mini specifications
The TV Box U3 mini includes an AMlogic S905Y4 processor, a Quad Core with ARM Cortex-A35 processors and an ARM Mali-G31 MP2 GPU that reaches 850 Mhz. This SoC includes decoding of the new AV1 codec, support for video output up to 4K@60fps resolutions and compatibility with HDR 10, HDR10+, HLG and Dolby Vision technologies.
This Smart Box includes 2 GB of DDR3 RAM and 16 GB of eMMc storage memory that can be expanded from the micro SD card reader included on the side of the plastic box.
Other features
The U3 mini has with respect to wireless connectivity Wifi aC Dual Band and Bluetooth 5.0. The connectors included in the plastic case are two USB 2.0 ports, another USB 3.0, analog audio and video port, an Ethernet 10/100 connector, SPDIF audio output and an HDMI 2.1 video output.
The operating system is Android 11 and a simple IR remote control is included so you can use this Android Box right out of the box.
