Active Chinese brand Vivo continues to grow its Y29 mid-range smartphone family with the introduction of its new Vivo Y29s.
This is another terminal that, as has been the norm in recent months, has a reinforced body, as we see that it has certifications of resistance against water and dust. We have the IP64 and military against falls MIL-STD 810H by SGS obtained thanks to its resistant internal structure. A good design that is also reflected in its thickness of 8.19 millimetres and its weight, which remains at 199 grams. As engine we have a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor, which has a fairly solvent performance that relieves and exceeds the Dimensity 6100.
As operating system, we find Android 15 with the Funtouch OS 15 layer, and we assume that it will make the leap out of China in the coming months.
Specifications of the Vivo Y29s
This recent terminal has as its backbone a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor manufactured in 6 nm by TSMC. This chip is an Octa Core with 2 ARM Cortex-A76 processors that reach 2.4 Ghz and 6 ARM Cortex-A55 processors that reach 2.0 Ghz. The GPU is an ARM Mali-G57 MC2 that reaches 950 Mhz and with which we will have no problems when moving most games.
The RAM memory is 8 GB LPDDR4x although we can expand it virtually as usual. For storage, we have options with 256 GB eMMc 5.1 that we can expand via micro SD slot up to 2 TB.
Display and other notable features
Its display has a 6.74-inch IPS panel with an HD resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels, 90 Hz refresh, 1500:1 contrast and a brightness of 570 Nits.
For selfies we have on the front a 5 MP camera that complements the 50 MP rear that is supported by a 0.8 MP auxiliary and an LED flash. We also have a fingerprint reader on one side, 5G/4G connectivity with Dual SIM, Dual Band Wi-Fi aC, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC FM Radio and GPS 5 in 1 for precise geographic positioning anywhere
As for connection interfaces, in this new phone we find a single USB Type-C 2.0 OTG port for data and recharging. The battery is 5500 mAh with 15 W fast charging and for audio we have two speakers.
