New Android TV-Box in the online store Aliexpress with the recent Amlogic S905W2 SoC with the name X98 mini+, a device that draws attention for its design on the top in golden marble.
The small X98 mini+ is the typical Chinese Box that basically stands out for using the new Amlogic S905W2 a chip that seems inferior to the current S905X4 in terms of computing power and graphics, soon we will see it in one of our comparisons. The GPU of this processor is capable of decoding video codec AV1 and up to 4K@60fps resolutions and HDR 10+. For now as we see it has a rather high price, other similar devices with this same processor have already dropped considerably in price and hopefully this one will also drop quickly.
SoC, RAM and storage
The new TV Box X98 mini+ integrates as its heart the new Amlogic S905W2 SoC, a Quad Core with ARM Cortex-A35 processors and a MALI-G3 MP2 GPU, a sufficient configuration to use streaming apps, KODI and some simple games.
In this device we have integrated on board 2/4 GB of DDR3 RAM, 16/32/64 GB of eMMc storage memory and a micro SD card reader located on the side of the black plastic case that allows us to increase its internal storage capacity.
Other features
In the wireless connectivity section of the X98 mini+ we have Dual Band Wifi aC with internal antenna and Bluetooth 5.2. In the connectors section this mini Smart Box includes 2 USB 2.0 ports, HDMI 2.0 port, SPDIF audio output, micro SD reader, 10/100 network connector, infrared port extender and finally an analog port for audio and video.
Also included in the box is a simple IR remote control, power supply and all the necessary cables to get it up and running right out of the box.
