The Xiaomi TV Box S 3rd Gen, a new version that includes as a novelty the new Amlogic S905X5M SoC, a processor with more power and capabilities.
The new Xiaomi TV Box S 3rd Gen is largely focused on the reproduction of streaming content, and this time it comes with a more rounded design and a controller very similar to previous versions. The main improvement over the Xiaomi TV Box S 2 is in power, as it now comes with the recent Amlogic S905X5M SoC and a much larger internal storage with 32 GB. A processor manufactured in 6 nm and that promises to be 21% faster than its predecessor, the Amlogic S905X4. A significant increase in power that significantly improves this series of budget processors and in which we also have a new Mali-G310 V2 GPU that doubles its graphics power.
The operating system is Google TV 14 and includes all the necessary DRM certificates to watch in maximum quality the paid streaming channels such as Netflix or similar platforms. Undoubtedly a TV-Box destined to be a bestseller like its predecessors.

Inside this new Xiaomi Box we find the Quad Core Amlogic S905X5M processor, manufactured in 6 nm. This integrates ARM Cortex-A55 processors with a power of 30K DMIPS and a new ARM Mali-G310 V2 iGPU. We have support for native decoding of H.265, AVS2, VP9 and AV1 codecs with resolutions up to 4K@75fps 10 bit, compatible with HLG, HDR10 and Dolby Vision technologies.
We have a single version of this Box with 2 GB of DDR4 RAM and 32 GB of eMMc storage. If we want to expand the memory, we will have to use an external USB drive.

In the wireless connectivity section, the Xiaomi TV Box S 3rd Gen offers Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity. The connectors included in the plastic box are a USB-A 2.0 port (OTG), DC charging connector and an HDMI 2.1 video output with 4K@75 HDR resolution. We also have Chromecast to stream content from our mobile.
