From Computex we get new interesting announcements such as the new ZOTAC ZONE console PC, with a hardware and design that reminds us of the Steam Deck.
This ZOTAC console has a very similar design to the Steam Deck, as we have two touch panels and a very similar geometry to this one. In this machine we find the powerful AMD Ryzen 7 8840U processor and mounts a 7″ AMOLED panel up to 120Hz, an improvement over the ROG Ally X presented recently. We also have 12 GB of RAM at a speed of 7500 MHz and in the storage section we have a 512 GB 2280 NVMe SSD.
We also have two USB4 with speeds up to 40 Gbps, with which we can have video output and power recharging at the same time. It also stands out for its adjustable triggers and for having an integrated camera on the front.
ZOTAC ZONE Specifications
The new ZOTAC ZONE offers an AMD Ryzen 7 8840U SoC manufactured on 4nm . This is an Octa Core chip with 16 threads that reaches 5.1 Ghz in turbo mode and has a base speed of 3.3 Ghz. The integrated GPU is an AMD Radeon 780M with RDNA3 technology that integrates 12 cores and a top speed of 2.7 Ghz. To accelerate AI functions as a novelty we have a core for AI with computing power 16/38 TOPS. It would be more interesting if you opt for the new AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series APU with integrated GPU RDNA 3.5.
On the console board we have soldered 16 GB of LPDDR RAM with speed up to 7500 Mhz. For storage we have a 1TB PCIe 4.0 2280 NVMe SSD that we can replace with another one if we want. We also have a slot for micro SD UHS-II memory cards.
Other notable features
The screen is one of its strong points, as we have a 7-inch AMOLED touchscreen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a technology suitable for adjusting power consumption. As controls we have an arrangement similar to that of the Steam Deck, but highlight its adjustable triggers in two positions, something that improves ergonomics and daily use.
In the wireless connectivity section we have WIFI 6E and Bluetooth 5.2. As connectors we find a 3.5 mm audio jack, two USB-C 4.0. This console measures 310 x 135 x 40 mm, has an integrated rear stand and weighs 700 grams. It comes with Windows 11 installed and ZOTAC’s own layer.
