We found in stores a new Android TV-Box called K9 Pro. This hardware surprises us with its SATA side connector and 8K@60fps video compatibility
As engine we find a Rockchip RK3588S processor, a SoC that has had a rather restricted use and that we have only seen in development boards and in few TV-box models. Also noteworthy is its dual video output, its 8 GB of RAM, its good wireless connectivity with Wifi 6 and Bluetooth 5. We have a SATA side connector for external drives to store large amounts of multimedia content.
The operating system is Android TV 12 and it seems that we have an integrated player for Blu-ray files in ISO and BDMV format. In addition, support for HDR10 video and Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby AC3, DTS, DTS-HD and DTS-X audio is indicated.
K9 Pro Specifications
This media player is powered by the Rockchip RK3588S 8nm processor. A chip that integrates 4 ARM Cortex-A76 cores capable of reaching 2.4 GHz and 4 other ARM Cortex-A55 CPUs that reach up to 1.8 GHz. In the graphics section we have a powerful ARM Mali-G610MC4 GPU. To cool this SoC we have a small fan inside the case.
This console includes 8 GB of RAM LPDDR4X and for storage includes 64 GB of eMMc memory. Thanks to the SATA port we have on one side we can connect large capacity disks directly.
Other notable features
In terms of network connectivity, the X5 PRO has a Gigabit Ethernet port , Wi-Fi 6 with internal antenna and Bluetooth 5.0. The connectors we have in this case are three USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0, RJ45 Gigabit, SPDIF digital audio output and an HDMI 2.1 video output with support for resolutions up to 8k@60Hz. There is also a USB-C port with DisplayPort 1.2 data and video support and the external SATA3 port.
Included among the accessories are a Bluetooth remote control to give commands without pointing, a SATA cable, HDMI 2.1 cable and a small power supply.
