Description
This MAGCUBIC HY300 Pro has on the front the main lens simple and with some dust (there is video on YouTube to disassemble and clean it). In the rear area we have the power button and all ports. Internally, we have two speakers and ventilation slots. We have a Bluetooth remote control with microphone, it allows us to turn on and control the system without pointing at the projector.
- Supports: Thread to fix on ceiling / Foot tilt up to 180 °.
In the rear area we locate a USB 2.0 port where we can connect a USB stick with movies, HDMI 1.4 input, audio jack, DC jack, reset and a status led.
- Connectivity: Wifi 6 up to 400 Mbps / Bluetooth 5.0 / USB 2.0.
This projector has a 180º rotating stand that is very easy to use, so it is easy to place it in the ideal inclination. Also in this same base we have a 1/4 thread if we want to hang it from the ceiling, in the menus of the system we can define the position.
User environment, settings and noise
Startup screen and settings
We boot up by pressing the top power button of the MAGCUBIC HY300 Pro and get to the custom Android 11 system screen. The system offers us a row layout with basic apps, we don’t have Google Play, so we have to install the apps manually using APK files.
Within the system menus we find the projection settings where we can control the geometry by four points with the knob, scale and other factors. In addition, we have settings for image type, color temperature and sound equalization.
- Geometry settings: Manual focus / Trapezoidal 4 points.
- Image adjustments: Zoom / Color range.
- Sound: Volume.
Operating system
This projector comes with Android 11 in a modified tablet version. As processor we have apparently the simple Allwinner H713, the performance quite good, we have only 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of storage something scarce. Enough for apps like KODI or IPTV but not for heavy games.
- System: Android 11 / ARM 32 bit / With 1280×720 pixels environment.
MAGCUBIC HY300 Pro Test Bench
Image Quality
This MAGCUBIC HY300 Pro projector , as the brand says in its specifications, we have image size between 40″ to 130″ with a distance of 1.6 – 3 m. It is recommended to use the zoom to adjust the size too large by default if we do not have area to zoom out.
The optical projection system of the MAGCUBIC HY300 Pro comes with simple lenses that may be better to clean if they are very dirty, the image quality is poor but sufficient for simple multimedia content. The sound from the speakers is sufficient for a medium sized room and its 260 ANSI Lumens power is only good for low light environments, better to use it in dark environments.
- Power: 260 ANSI Lumens / Use in dark environments only.
- Definition: Quality of detail is basic.
- Uniformity: Uniformity and geometry are acceptable.
- Color: Correct color range.
Noise level and consumption
We check that the internal fan has medium noise, it is not strident, but we do have a constant sound of air flow that is noticeable from a short distance. We can see on the meter next to the projector as we stand at 54 dBA, it is a pretty good result compared to others of this type, if we move away to what would be normal we can stay in the 32 dBA announced.
- Fan: Constant noise level 54 dBA / Low noise / Maximum consumption of 36 W.
Video and Audio playback test
In the video section, the MAGCUBIC HY300 Pro can play all modern formats such as the new AV1 codec. We also have Miracast to send video from our mobile, although it does not work very well. As we checked in our native resolution test, the projector in video reaches 1080p. It is possible to use apps such as KODI or PLEX by installing them directly from the app store. In terms of audio, we can play stereo sound .
- Video: Different color options / refresh rate change NOT available.
- Sound: 2 x 1 W / EQ options / Audio output via jack.
- Media Sharing: GoogleCast Yes / Miracast No / DLNA with BlubblePnP / Airplay No.
- Tutorials: Install add-on in KODI / Judder, how to fix it / Multi-channel audio

Streaming services
We performed several tests on streaming services to check how the most popular services work. This MAGCUBIC HY300 Pro presents the classic configuration without certificates, which limits us in quality in numerous services. We can use it with many of these services, but in basic quality, if we want to use these apps it is better to connect a certified Android Box or Stick.
- DRM: Google Widevine L3.
- Audio / Video certificates: No.

Review
The compact MAGCUBIC HY300 Pro projector is a budget option, which by default comes with Android 11 system and a decent Allwinner 713 SoC for multimedia. We have a brightness of 260 ANSI Lumens which is adequate for low light environments, but not enough for bright environments. The image offered in HD quality has a limited fidelity, but may be sufficient to play multimedia for its price.
The MAGCUBIC HY300 Pro has a compact and practical design, its 180º support allows it to be positioned comfortably. The four-point adjustable geometrysystem is a suitable solution for a correct image format. Inside the projector we find a simple sound system, but it can be enough for a not very big room.
After testing the MAGCUBIC HY300 Pro we can say that it is a small projector with Android 11 cheap. It can be useful to show movies to children, transport it anywhere or watch a game occasionally, it is not a projector to mount permanently at home if we want quality.
