MECOOL KP1 projector with Android TV 11 and Amlogic S805X2

It is not very common to find projectors with modern versions of Android, but today we have the new MECOOL KP1 that comes with Android TV 11.

This modernity is due to the fact that hidden inside the projector we have a Mecool KD5 TV Stick that with an Amlogic S805X2 SoC is in charge of moving Android TV 11. This is not the most powerful Stick on the planet, but it will work well for us as a multimedia center, since it even integrates the AV1 codec. By having Android TV 11 certified by Google, we have Chromecast included and certified to view Netflix and other platforms in FHD quality.

Regarding the projector, we highlight its native FHD resolution and its brightness of 700 ANSI Lumens, correct specifications, although its price is currently very high.

MECOOL KP1 Specs

The MECOOL KP1 includes an LCD projector with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels, brightness of 700 ANSI Lumens and a maximum contrast of 10000:1. The focus control is manual, the keystone correction is automatic, and we can get a screen with dimensions between 45″ and 240″. For audio, we have a 5W speaker.

The connection interfaces of the MECOOL KP1 are a USB 2.0 port, a 3.5 mm jack for analogue audio and video and 2 HDMI connectors where we can connect consoles or any other device.

The Mecool KD5 Stick is the one that moves Android TV 11 and integrates the AMlogic S805X2 SoC manufactured in 12nm. This chip is a Quad Core with ARM Cortex-A35 processors and a Mali-G31 MP2 GPU. The RAM memory is 1 GB LPDDR4 and for storage it includes 8 GB of eMMc memory.

For wireless connectivity we have Dual Band Wi-Fi AC and Bluetooth 4.2 and the included remote control is by Bluetooth technology, and we have buttons for direct access to Prime Video, Netflix, YouTube and Google Play as well as a microphone for voice functions.
