User environment, settings and noise
Startup screen and settings
We start by pressing the top power button of the Wanbo T2 Ultra and we get to the Google TV system screen. As we can see, it is the same environment that we can have on an original Google TV Chromecast, with the same functions and features.
Pressing on the projector key on the remote we get to the projection settings where we can control the focus, automatic or manual geometry, alignment, object detection, scaling and reset. In addition, we have adjustments for image type, color temperature and sound equalization.
- Geometry settings: AutoFocus / Automatic 4 point trapezoidal / Object detection.
- Image settings: Image modes / Color range.
- Sound: Audio output / Equalization adjustment.
Operating system
This projector comes with Google TV 11 as system and as we can see is certified by Skyworth one of the Netflix Hailstorm partners. As processor we have apparently the simple Amlogic T950D4, the performance is somewhat slow in the menus, especially for mounting only 1 GB of RAM.
- System: Google TV 11 / ARM 32 bit / With around 1280×720 pixels.
Wanbo T2 Ultra Test Bench
Image Quality
This Wanbo T2 Ultra projector , as the brand says in its specifications, has an image size between 45″ to 140″ with a distance of 1.2 – 3.8 m. If we move too far away to get the maximum screen size we notice some distortion, although the image is still good. We have a 3-pack of anti-dust glass lenses, which gives good results.
The Wanbo T2 Ultra ‘s optical projection system comes with encapsulated lenses that will prolong the image quality. The sound of the 5W speakers is sufficient for a large room despite its small size and its 500 ANSI Lumens power is only good for low light environments, better to use it in dark environments.
- Power: 500 ANSI Lumens / Can be used in environments with some light.
- Definition: The quality of detail is quite good for its price.
- Uniformity: We have good uniformity and geometry.
- Color: Good color range.
Noise level and consumption
We check that the internal fan has a low noise, it is not strident, but we do have a constant sound of airflow that is noticeable from a short distance. We can see on the meter next to the projector as we are placed in the 48 dBA, it is a pretty good result compared to others of this type, if we move away to what would be normal we can stay in the 30 dBA that announces.
- Fan: Constant noise level 48 dBA / Low noise / Maximum consumption of 59 W.
Video and Audio playback test
In the video section, the Wanbo T2 Ultra can play all modern formats such as the new AV1 codec and we also have Chromecast to send video from our mobile. As we checked in our native resolution test, the projector in video reaches 1080p. It is possible to use apps like KODI or PLEX by installing them directly from the app store. In terms of audio we can play Dolby and DTS sound .
- Video: Different color options / refresh rate change NOT available.

Review
The compact Wanbo T2 Ultra projector is a very interesting option, it offers us an all in one thanks to its Google TV Certified system, this makes it compatible with streaming platforms such as Netflix. We have a brightness of 500 ANSI Lumens which is suitable for low light environments, but not enough for bright environments. The image with its lenses offers good uniformity and correct definition, the colors and levels of adjustments allow us to have a fairly acceptable quality.
The Wanbo T2 Ultra stands out for its design, the 120º support allows it to be positioned comfortably. We have autofocus and camera geometry systems that are quite comfortable and are appreciated to simplify our life. Inside the projector we find two integrated 5 W speakers with a decent power.
After testing the Wanbo T2 Ultra we can say that it is a small projector with Google TV interesting in its price range. If we are looking for a compact projector it is an attractive option.
